This is message for every Canadian hockey fan planning to watch tonight´s game.

We are aware of your quality. Nobody here didn´t have doubt you would get into the Olympic finals a few days ago. But now there is legendary Slovak generation of hockey players as your enemy with brave hearts, awaiting their chance to succeed for the very last time.

We´ve got our main weapon – psychical strength. All over the country, men and women are setting an alarm clocks to be ready for 3:30 in the morning, half of them believing we could really take Canada down and the other half just hoping. We know it ´s going to be damn hard, but as I said above there is the most powerful weapon in our team – a chance to say goodbye like winning hereos for leaving generation of Slovak hockey players, who have brought about all the medals for the small nation over the past decade at the World Championships.

We can upset Canada in about 1 out of 10 matches. And the one approaching must be just that exception to the rule. In years to come (at least 10), we are not going to have real chance and team to win a medal from Olympics or World Championships, which almost always includes beating Canada. I´m sorry to say this – but we deserve to play in the final more and we are going to put up a tremendous fight, trying to get the last glory (and also the biggest one) for proud country in the centre of Europe.

So don´t expect us to give up that easily. We´re planning to win, and then say goodbye to the world of  TOP hockey elite. Hopefully it won´t be forever…
